40 Jobs for Gweedore - Cope
Pat the Cope Gallagher MEP has welcomed the decision by the Government to approve funding for the ongoing development by Largo Foods at the Gweedore Plant.
The research, development and innovation section within the Largo Group has led to the development of a unique rice-based health snack. This will be a perfect matching product for the successful “Cassava Product – Velvet Crunch” already being produced in Gweedore. This product was also developed by Largo through their ongoing research and development programme, which is supported by Udaras na Gaeltachta.
Pat the Cope has confirmed that the Bespoke Production Line will be installed by September / October and the first products will be produced around Christmas.
It is anticipated that the 40 jobs to be created will be rolled out over the next few years.
Pat the Cope was high in his praise of Pat Carey TD, Minister for Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs, Ray Coyle, Managing Director of Largo Foods, for his commitment to the Gweedore Area and to Udaras na Gaeltachta for the efficient manner in which they brought this project to fruition.
