Pat the Cope turns sod on €1million Childcare Facility for Dungloe.


Pat the Cope Gallagher MEP, today 12th March 2010, turned the sod for the new childcare facility at Dungloe - Ionad Curam Paistí An Clochan Leith. Funding of €1million provided by the office of the Minister for Children, will go towards the construction of a new facility in Dungloe.

The development of the new facility will incorporate the existing naíonra which are already in Dungloe for the past 30 years.

Pat the Cope said “This new Childcare Facility will consist of the normal facilities for playgroups, including disabled access, and also a number of rooms to facilitate a naíonra and crèche. After school facilities will also be provided at the new centre.

He went on to say that "The availability of high quality childcare services is vital in today's Ireland, not only for parents, but also to aid in a child's development and their readiness for school.

"The development is a Turnkey project and it is hoped that the construction of this facility will be completed by September 2010.
Finally I must pay tribute to the committee whose volunteers, like so many others throughout Donegal, work diligently to provide these very necessary community facilities," concluded Pat the Cope.
