Pat the Cope said: “Funding allocated under the Community Support for Older People is used by voluntary community groups such as Glenties Community Alert and Raphoe Friday Seniors Club who work with older people.”
“The funding helps pay for small security measures including a contribution towards the installation of monitored personal alarm systems, the cost of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, external security lighting and other small items like locks.”
“These is a small but important contribution from the Government towards the wonderful work carried out at community level to help older people feel safer in the homes and I would like to commend the work done by groups such as the Glenties Community Alert and Raphoe Friday Seniors Club,” concluded Pat the Cope MEP.
