Cope welcomes 2010 National Roads Allocations
Pat the Cope Gallagher MEP has welcomed the announcement by Noel Dempsey TD, Minister for Transport, that substantial funding will be made available for the N56 through West Donegal.
4,490,300 has been allocated for major schemes, 4,960,000 for improvement works, 1,777,100 for maintenance and 792,000 for safety works.
Some of the projects to benefit from the Safety Works allocation are:
Crolly Village 100,000
Falcarragh Town 90,000
Greens Corner, Dungloe 40,000
N56 Cashelmore 40,000
N56 Ballymore School 50,000
N56 Gortahork 12,000
N56 Kill Dunfanaghy 50,000
Projects to benefit under the Improvements works allocation are:
Cronashallog to Dungloe 350,000
Tirlin to Drumnaragh 700,000
Pat the Cope is delighted to welcome the National Roads Authoritys decision to provide extensive funding of 950,000 for an improved road from Dungloe to Glenties. Planning and design will commence immediately and he is confident that further funding will be made available in 2011and 2012 to carry out the works on this major project, when the design, planning and land identification has been completed.
He also welcomed the decision to provide funding of 450,000 for the Ballybofey / Stranorar Bypass.
