Support Irish jobs by checking for the National Dairy Council Mark – The
Cope
Pat the Cope Gallagher MEP is encouraging people to support Irish jobs
by checking for the new National Dairy Council Mark when buying milk or
cream.
The National Dairy Council Mark will be introducing the mark to milk and
cream products over the next couple of months, and Pat the Cope said
that consumers can help support thousands of Irish jobs in the dairy
sector by choosing to buy certified Irish products.
“Almost 5,000 people are employed in the dairy industry in Ireland.
Donegal Creameries is a strong local employer here in Donegal those jobs
can be supported by buying dairy products with the National Dairy
Council mark,” Deputy Treacy said.
“The mark will assure the consumers that the milk or cream they are
purchasing has been farmed and processed in the Republic of Ireland.”
“The mark will start to appear on milk and cream products in the next
number of months and the National Dairy Council is considering
introducing it to other dairy products at a later stage.”
“I would like to encourage people to support jobs here in Donegal by
buying products that have received the mark from the NDC,” concluded Pat
the Cope.
A full listed of licensed products will also be published on the
National Dairy Council’s website www.ndc.ie
