The result in the forthcoming Lisbon Treaty referendum is crucial to Ireland - Make sure you are registered to vote -
Pat the Cope Gallagher MEP for the constituency of North and West is calling on people to make sure they are registered to vote for the forthcoming Lisbon Treaty referendum on October 2nd.
Pat the Cope Gallagher said " Those who vote on October 2nd have a very important decision to make. The result of this referendum will decide the relationship Ireland has with the EU. In this economic climate we need the EU now more than ever.
I have received many queries from my constituents who have experienced problems with the electoral register. I would ask people to check if they are registered to vote. The website www.checktheregister.ie is easy to understand and will give you details of your local electoral office or you can contact your local county council office. The closing date for amending the register is Tuesday the 15th of September. "
