Fianna Fail Achievements in SW Donegal
This Government, since 1997 has reduced the higher level of income tax from 48p to 42p and the lower rate of income tax from 26p to 20p.  This compares to the miserable 1p which was knocked off by the previous Rainbow administration.

Fisheries

The reform of the Common Fisheries Policy to 2002 is singularly the biggest challenge facing Irish fishermen for many years.  I have sought to ensure that Irish fishing organisations, particularly from County Donegal have been included fully in this consultation process.  No reform of the fisheries sector can take place unless the fishing organisations are fully involved in this process. The Irish C.F.P. Strategy Review Group is an excellent forum with all of the Industry respresentivaties participing and agreeing the Irish position. For further details www.bim.ie
